We spend a lot of time making out workspace productive and efficient with ergonomic mice, programmable keyboards and even adjustable standing desks, but it’s also important to create a working space that’s conducive to calm working as well as improved efficiency.
Lighting is a very important part of getting into the right frame of mind. There are several lighting products available for desks, such as the excellent BenQ ScreenBar Plus that I reviewed recently, but there are also lighting products that serve to make a workspace look more attractive and maybe even to promote a feeling of wellbeing. I’ve been looking at a couple of LED lighting solutions that can create a better look in any working space.
First up is the Cololight Hexagon Lights which will probably appeal to gamers and are ideal for decorating a home office. The lights can work with Homekit, Alexa and Google Assistant. The panels can be controlled using voice to change things like color, brightness levels and even the time when the hexagons come on and go off.

As well as illuminating a work area with solid light, the Cololight hexagon lights also have built-in microphones that pick up audio and then create a light show that keeps time with the music being played.
Each hexagonal panel is made up of 19 LEDs, with each one able to be set to one of 16 million colors and 71 dynamic effects, including adjustable brightness levels and changeover speed that can be set using the Cololight smartphone. The panels can be clipped together to create a custom shape or mounted on a wall using the wall-mount kit.
The second lighting product I looked at is the Cololight Mix LED wall lights for brightening up a home office or even a bedroom. Like the Hexagonal panels, the Mix LED wall lights can be controlled using Alexa or Google Assistant.

The Cololight Mix wall lights can display up to 16 million RGB colors using more than 60 lighting effects. The wall lights have double-sided self-adhesive pads to fix them to a wall and can be controlled using the Cololight smartphone app.
