Tucked away in Lincoln, New Hampshire is an acre-sized Ice Castle. The castle is open for a few weeks in the winter and is illuminated at night, turning the ice into a light show. The castle features a small and large slides, a fountain, tunnels, towers and frozen thrones.

The Ice Castles in New Hampshire are opening for the season on Friday.

The giant ice castle has color-changing LED lights and features ice-carved slides, tunnels, fountains, crawl spaces, caverns and ice thrones. It also has other activities such as snow tubing and horse-drawn sleigh rides.

There are COVID-19 safety protocols this year. All Ice Castles employees will be masked and guests are recommended to wear them, the website states. There is also an increased cleaning process and additional hand sanitizing stations.

Those in attendance do not have to show proof of vaccination “because Ice Castles is an open-air, outdoor event,” the website states.

Tickets range from $15 for children during the week to $27 for general admission during the weekend. Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 6 p.m.
