New LED street lights coming to South Bend – 953mnc.com
A change is coming to street lights in South Bend, thanks to a partnership between Indiana Michigan Power and the City of South Bend.
I&M crews is upgrading streetlights for their L-E-D Streetlight Project.
They’re converting 8,000, with no cost to the city.
They say that the lights will improve safety on public streets in the city, with more direct light.
The lights can last up to 10 to 12 years.
The upgrades started earlier this month and is slated to finish in the fall.
I&M has installed more than 18,00 streetlights throughout the street.
